Pitchaya is an experienced assistant producer in the unscripted TV industry. For over six years, she worked full-time at an international TV production company in Bangkok, Thailand. Starting out as a production coordinator (or a fixer) moving up to an assistant producer and to a junior producer, she had the opportunity to produce TV documentaries for National Geographic, History Channel, Channel NewsAsia (CNA) and more. She was assigned to work on many interesting projects with different content, from fish and honey bees to World War II, Indonesian tycoons, Thai beer, crimes and even ghosts.

Her most memorable moment is when a short documentary she directed and produced about a group of disabled, migrant children living in a remote hill tribe village in Thailand was presented in front of Thailand’s Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in 2017.

With over 10 years of experience in broadcast production, she has worked with many talented people and has gained a lot of working experiences. She is now a freelance assistant producer based in California, USA. As a proud mom of one, she works from home, supporting producers across the world in all aspects of a production from doing research work, reaching out to contributors, arranging production shoots & logistics to sourcing archives, transcribing, fact checking, annotating scripts and completing production deliverables.

Her educational background in Communication, particularly in Radio-TV-Film and Journalism, establishes a strong foundation for her to understand how media productions work. Her working experience as a former producer-director allows her to assist producers with a producer’s cap on. Her goal as an AP is to make producers’ lives easier so that they can focus on storytelling and creative stuff. When issues arise, she does her best to present the issues along with possible solutions to producers to help them make their best decision. Being meticulous allows her to complete her tasks to a high standard.
